Note: Contractors cannot work on Toronto Hydro’s equipment or assets until they've received qualified contractor status.
Who should apply
You should apply for Tier 2 or Tier 3 contractor status based on the following descriptions.
| Tier | Description |
|---|---|
| Tier 2 | You're seeking to work on the construction, design or audit of current or future-owned Toronto Hydro distribution system equipment on behalf of a requesting party or customer. The requesting party or customer must have a Coordination Agreement or Offer to Connect with Alternative Bid Work. |
| Tier 3 | You’re seeking to become a subcontractor to a Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor. |
How to apply
Complete the Contractor Pre-Qualification Application (PDF, 1 MB) and email it to prequalapplication@torontohydro.com.
Note: To help ensure your application is processed as quickly as possible, please make sure you’ve filled in all applicable fields within the application. Also, remember to attach any other required documents in your email when submitting your application.
Once you’ve submitted your application, we typically email you in about five business days to confirm receipt. This is followed by an email to let you know if your application is approved or rejected, which we typically send within 30 business days of receiving your application.
